Giving

The Bible clearly teaches that giving (including money) is just one demonstration of commitment to the work and ministry of the church to which we belong. Being a generous people provides the church with the resources to do things well, and allows us to demonstrate God’s generosity in what we give away.

We don’t teach a particular percentage, as defined in the Old Testament (10% of gross income), but rather, with that as a guideline, that “each [person] should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7).

We’ve made it as easy as possible to regularly give to NBV with the online giving tool (below)…

The NBV is a 501 non-profit funded entirely by it’s membership. All gifts are tax deductible (at year’s end the office will mail a record of your giving). All money we receive is used towards the operating expenses of our ministry here in Brooklyn and are handled with integrity & accountability.

Please feel free to talk with a leader if you have any questions about our finances, giving in the Bible or how money is spent in our community.

3. Check or Cash

Like the old fashioned days, you can still drop a check or cash in the basket or mail a check to the church office. We encourage people to put cash in an envelope with your name so that at year’s end we can mail a record of your giving for tax exemption.
