Worship is what we were created for. It’s a lifestyle, not just something we do on Sundays, and we express it in ways that are true to who we are, honest & real.
Church is a Community of people, not just a building or a religious service. Life cannot be enjoyed to its fullest without real friends in community. For us it happens all the time: during and after our services, in our small groups that meet together during the week and informally with our members simply being friends.
The Bible tells The Kingdom Story about God’s relationship with people. Jesus’ coming wasn’t about a new religion, but a divine invasion that defeated evil and is restoring our broken world, a restoration still taking place in natural and spiritual ways. This has turned us into God’s “activists” as we join him in sharing his love for those around us. His story is now our story.
Jesus was always Connecting with regular people right where they were in life. He hung out with those that society had rejected and excluded simply because he loved them. We want to do the same at work, at school, and in our neighborhood. We want to love like Jesus loved, not in some weird religious way, but in a real and honest way.
God wants to Help the lost and the poor. He especially cares for those spiritually lost and separated from him, people overwhelmed and downtrodden by life, and those that are poor and oppressed. We want to join with God and help the poor in practical ways.
We believe that God interacts with us all the time. The Bible and our own experiences show that he uses regular people to heal the sick, to set people free, and to speak his words. We want to remain simple and like Jesus in how we do these things, avoiding hype and manipulation.
We have a culture where Everyone gets a chance to play. It can be as simple as setting up chairs, leading a small group, or as complex as starting an initiative that involves social activism. We want to be a community that helps people find out what God has made them for and empower them to do it.
